Day 01

Dar es Salaam to Selous (Rufiji River Cruise)

Morning: Your professional guide will meet you at your accommodation in Dar es Salaam at 7:30 AM. From here, we embark on a scenic 5-6 hour drive deep into the wilderness of the Selous Game Reserve.

Afternoon & Evening: Upon arriving at your premium lodge in the afternoon, you will transition to the water for a thrilling boat safari along the mighty Rufiji River. This is a premier opportunity to spot plenty of hippos, massive crocodiles, and vibrant birdlife up close. We return to the camp for a freshly prepared dinner and your first overnight stay.

Day 02

Full Day Game Drive in Selous Game Reserve

Morning & Afternoon: Following an early breakfast, we dedicate the entire day to exploring the vast expanses of the Selous Game Reserve in our custom 4x4 vehicle. As Africa's largest protected wildlife reserve, Selous offers incredibly diverse terrain. We will spend the day tracking large predators, elephants, giraffes, and exploring the reserve's pristine lakes and woodlands. A curated picnic lunch will be served in the bush.

Evening: We conclude our extensive game drive and return to the lodge to relax, dine, and recount the day's sightings.

Day 03

Selous Game Reserve to Mikumi National Park

Morning & Afternoon: After breakfast, we depart Selous, conducting a thrilling game drive en route through the reserve's northern sector. This area is a highlight for spotting a rich variety of bird species and mammals, including giraffes, zebras, lions, leopards, hartebeests, wildebeests, and the highly sought-after African wild dog.

Evening: We transition out of Selous and cross into Mikumi National Park, arriving at our designated premium accommodation in time for dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Day 04

Mikumi National Park to Dar es Salaam

Morning: We start the day with an early breakfast at the camp, followed immediately by a morning game drive across the Mkata Floodplain of Mikumi National Park. The open horizons here provide excellent visibility for spotting grazing herds and the predators that stalk them.

Afternoon: Following our game drive, we will enjoy a hot lunch before beginning our comfortable transfer back to Dar es Salaam. We anticipate dropping you off at your location of choice between 2:00 PM and 2:30 PM, concluding your southern safari adventure.
