3-Day Safari Itinerary

A perfectly balanced Southern Circuit adventure offering three distinct ways to view wildlife: by water, by 4x4, and on foot.

Day 01

Dar es Salaam to Selous (Rufiji River Cruise)

Morning & Afternoon: You will be picked up from Dar es Salaam and transferred to Selous, arriving in time for a freshly prepared lunch at your lodge.

Evening: In the late afternoon, step aboard our comfortable riverboat for a spectacular sunset cruise on the Rufiji River—a waterway over half a mile wide. You will glide past submerged hippos, basking crocodiles, and vibrant birdlife as the sun sets over the distant hills. Return for cold drinks and dinner at the premium Selous Kinga Lodge.

Day 02

Full Day Game Drive in Selous Game Reserve

Morning: Following a 6:00 AM breakfast, we take a short drive to the reserve gates. You will embark on a full-day game drive in a specially modified safari vehicle. Traverse wetlands and acacia forests while your professional guide tracks lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and the rare African hunting dog.

Afternoon: We will pause for a packed lunch at a safe, scenic location near the water, offering a clear 360-degree view to watch animals come to drink. We conclude the game drive and return to the lodge by 6:30 PM for dinner.

Day 03

Guided Walking Safari to Dar es Salaam

Morning: Wake up early for an immersive walking safari through the bush and along the riverbank. Escorted by a first-class guide with matchless knowledge of local botany, you will learn how almost every plant and tree is utilized in the local environment.

Afternoon: After the fascinating bush walk, return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast. You will then board your vehicle for the comfortable transfer back to Dar es Salaam, concluding your southern safari adventure.
