Day 01

Hotel to Chemka Hot Springs

Morning: The Off-Road Journey
We will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning. The drive to the hot springs takes just over an hour. Because the road is unpaved, bumpy, and winding, the journey itself is a mini-safari, allowing you to take in the wonderful semi-arid scenery and observe the daily rhythms of authentic Tanzanian rural life.

Midday: Swim & Picnic
Upon arriving at the Chemka oasis, the day is yours to enjoy. Jump into the warm, clear waters, explore the intricate underwater root systems, or simply relax on the banks and soak up the sun. A packed lunch box will be provided for you to enjoy at your leisure. Keep an eye on the trees—baboons and monkeys are common visitors to the springs!

Afternoon: Return to Base
After you have thoroughly relaxed and had your fill of swimming, we will pack up and begin the scenic, bumpy drive back to town, dropping you off at your hotel in the late afternoon.
